Foreign media Wccftech has discovered a U.S. patent published in February that Nintendo may be adding online voice chat to the Switch2. According to previous reports, the new C button on the Switch2 Joy Con grip might be used for the chat function.
According to the patent application description, voice chat would also be affected by distance. In the game, chatting between a player’s character and another’s character would be affected by the distance in the game world, with the voice being reduced if they are far away, a similar feature found in many other games.
With the current first-generation Switch, it’s a pain in the ass to use voice chat in games like Splatoon 2, and you have to use the Nintendo Switch Online App on your phone. in addition to being an unnecessary pain in the ass, the current options are very outdated.
