Hi everyone! This is the Super Witch channel, specializing in the creation and sharing of international service content. For Chinese players, this content can be used as a forward-looking reference to help you gain an early insight into the dynamics of the game.
Sometimes, change is necessary. Today, officials announced the biggest adjustment in the history of Clash of Clans! Starting with the next update, players in Titan Cup leagues and below will be able to attack at will! And that means
Troops, spells and siege machines no longer require training time and can be trained instantly!
Heroes also no longer need recovery time or spare life points, and they will never tire from battle!
Players in the Legendary Cup League still maintain the cap of 8 attacks per day, for now!
A new era of Clash of Clans is about to begin! Everyone can now attack to their heart’s content . There will be no limit to your attacks until all the builders are busy and the resources are bursting at the seams!
Why the change now? Clash of Clans is 13 years old this year, and 13 year olds need to be free. For a 13 year old game, there shouldn’t be a limit to how many times a player can attack per day.
In fact, training time has been one of the main complaints from players for a long time. Removing certain mechanics is certainly a bold decision for a game that has been running successfully for years. Training time and resource spending were once considered one of the secret recipes for the game’s longevity, so officials have worried about the impact of removing them as well.
The game removed the training cost a couple years ago, and the feedback was great! People started to try more varied offensive strategies, and the game became significantly more enjoyable. This gave the game team the confidence to take the next step.
The world is a very different place than it was when Clash of Clans launched in 2012. Nowadays, it doesn’t seem reasonable to make players wait 15 minutes or more before they have enough troops to launch their next attack. Starting this month, that wait will be history. Officials want players to be able to launch an attack whenever they want, play on weekends, and even live for hours. This will not only allow everyone to master the combat skills faster, but also quickly advance the development progress of the early base camp. Let’s go to full-scale war together!
Will there be problems with stuck white clouds? Will there be enough target villages?
Clash of Clans is a unique game in that when players are extremely active, there may not be as many villages to attack. Sometimes, players will experience stuck white clouds.
In this update, a new server technology is being developed, Match Anytime. If the matchmaking pool runs out of eligible villages, you will have the opportunity to attack a real player’s Mirror Village. A mirror village is a player’s village that is protected by a shield, and you can still attack it normally for loot and trophies. However, the player’s shield will still be in effect and no resources or trophies will be lost. This design ensures that players won’t be stuck waiting for a long time for a suitable target. Mirror villages will only be matched if there is no suitable real player village.
Mirror villages aren’t actually a new mechanic – Horde Versus Horde and Legendary Cup League offenses have long used this mechanic, and it’s now being introduced into online mode battles to speed up matches. After this update is live, you won’t be able to see if your Mirror Village has been attacked for a while. However, in a future update, these battles will be added to the defense log, allowing you to learn from the experience through replay as well.
Training Potions Magic Snacks and Perks
As of today, the game will no longer sell training potions through any in-game packs. Due to the removal of army training time, these magic items will be removed from the game accordingly. Training Desserts will also be removed from Treasure Chest rewards.
Merchants and Gold Tokens containing these items will remain in the game for now. However, they will be removed from the player’s inventory when this feature adjustment goes live. So remember to use them up as soon as possible or these items will be converted to gems at the end of the month!
Additionally, the Training Plus perk on the Road to Gold Token Rewards will be replaced by other perks as well. With that said, it’s time to introduce the next item
Reinforcements
Another major upcoming tweak is in regards to the reinforcement system. With all the training time becoming 0, it will no longer be appropriate for players to reinforce their armies directly to their tribe members.
When the update goes live, all reinforcements will cost either Holy Water or Dark Heavy Oil, depending on the specific troop spell. The exact value is still being worked out, but we’re making sure that donating troops doesn’t become a burden. If you’re really short on resources, maybe you could consider launching a few more attacks? You don’t have to wait for future attacks anyway!
In addition, the interval between requests for reinforcements from all players’ Horde castles has been changed to 10 minutes, basically making the best Horde perks available to all players for free! This way, you can request reinforcements more often, even in lower ranked tribes.
Remember the Gold Token Training Bonus perk we mentioned earlier? The official plan is to change it to shorten the waiting time for requesting reinforcements. By activating the Gold Token, you’ll be able to send requests for reinforcements more often after each battle!
Trophy Curve
This next tweak is about the trophy curve. The previous balancing setup was based around players attacking roughly 2 times each time they entered the game, so officials were concerned that there would be a dramatic inflation of the trophy count. With this in mind, the game will be reducing the number of trophies earned through victories, with the biggest cut being 1-star victories. Don’t worry though! You can still earn trophies from these wins to move up in the league. However, if you only get 1-star victories, it will be harder than ever to get trophies.
We would like to point out that this is a precautionary change, as we are not sure how many attacks players will make per day, and we don’t want to inflate the trophies and flood the Legends Cup league with players. We will be monitoring the trophy movement on a daily basis, and may adjust the values during a minor server maintenance.
Legends Cup
The Legends Cup League still retains the limit of 8 attacks per day, but only for the time being! Officials plan to adjust this setting in a future update.
However, current data shows that most Legends Cup League players don’t play the full 8 games per day, so the change to unlimited offense in the Legends Cup League has been delayed until a subsequent update this year. As for now, let’s continue to use the setting of being able to play all 8 Legends Cup League battles at once to build up our strength!
When will these changes go live?
These changes will go live soon! We’ll be releasing an official teaser video in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for updates! The next update is sure to get your blood pumping!
