After March’s bombardment of great games, I wonder if those of you in front of your screens are still a little bit tired of it all. In this post, we’re going to introduce you to ten April releases that are worth looking out for, not only in terms of category, but also in terms of what they focus on, so let’s see if there’s one you like.

Light and Shadow: Expedition 33

Turn-based combat with high-speed QTEs – it’s hard to imagine what Light and Shadow Expedition 33 has in store for gamers, but this turn-based role-playing game from French studio Sandfall Interactive utilizes a traditional turn-based system where speed determines the order of action, and adds a QTE system to counter enemy moves, making the combat experience unlike any other. This is a turn-based role-playing game developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive.

Players can dodge enemy attacks through QTE, or successfully perform blocking counter moves with a shorter input window, which can cause a lot of damage to enemies while dodging their attacks. In this way, the player can choose different evasive maneuvers to deal with different threats when facing different enemies.

In addition to the innovative combat system, Light and Shadow Expedition 33 retains the classic elements of a JRPG, allowing players to adjust their character’s equipment, attributes and skills to suit their own style of gameplay, as well as designing an exclusive build direction for their expedition members. Players are free to build their own mobile fortress, choosing from engines, room layouts and weapons to create a unique war machine. With the RTS genre on the decline, it’s not easy to see a good selling title. Tempest Rising takes all the best aspects of the 90’s and 00’s RTS titles and combines them with the latest development techniques and presentation styles to create an RTS full of combat strategy and gaming.

The game offers players a choice of three camps, two of which can be played at the beginning of the game, each with a different fighting style and economic model. Players will have to choose between leading the maneuverable and technologically advanced Peacekeepers or the brave and fearless Stormtroopers in either the single-player campaign or the multiplayer mode. For those who enjoy the RTS genre, the Deluxe Edition of the game is available for pre-order with a 7-day head start.

PC gamers will now be able to experience the mixed emotions that come with being bludgeoned with a golf club. The plot-driven third-person shooter, released in 2020, took the gaming world by storm upon its release, and its effects are still being felt today.

While the reviews were polarizing, the quality of the game is definitely something to be reckoned with as it won over 300 awards and took home the TGA 2020 Game of the Year. The reset also improves on the original game’s graphics and adds a new Roguelike survival mode, Journey to the Dead, which lets players push their limits in classic scenes from The Last Survivor 2.

Meanwhile, Vanishing Levels allows players to explore three early development versions of the game that were not released in the original version, and hear the story of the game’s development process while experiencing the game, while Guitar Strumming and Rapid Mode allow players to choose between relaxation and challenge. The game also supports the features of the PlayStation DualSense controller, so I wonder what kind of mood you’ll be in when you play that classic level?

Paradise

Paradise is a free-to-play life simulation game that has done a wonderful job of drawing up the pie. The slogan Endless Worlds, Endless Games is enough to pique players’ curiosity, but it remains to be seen whether its advertised AI-driven NPCs and real-world rules can bring players unlimited possibilities.

Participate in shootouts with friends, race around the track, and earn money to buy everything you want, from real estate to luxury clothing. With only a few days left until the game’s release, it’s fun to think about the excitement of opening a blind box.

Secret Shadow of Mandela

In this 2 5D side-scrolling action role-playing game, players will battle evil creatures and challenge nightmarish ringleaders in the monster-filled world of Faldum, and with the addition of allies, perhaps the dream of rebelling against the world won’t be so hard to achieve.

Horizontal scrolling with skill-driven combat allows players to execute those who come their way in exaggerated fashion. Of course the enemies are no slouches, but we’re better. From the Vanguard to the Heretic, a wide selection of professions, depth-filled character builds, and powerful weapons, armor, and trinkets allow players to better deal with the dangers to come. Players who enjoy side-scrolling games are in for a treat!

South of Midnight

From the team that developed Contrast, We Happy Few, comes an adventure into the mysterious culture of the American South, years in the making. Players take on the role of protagonist Hazel, who is accidentally forced into a Southern Gothic world constructed from memories, and will have to make difficult choices over and over again in this bizarre and fantastical environment.

In order to save his mother and protect his hometown, the protagonist becomes a weaver with the ability to repair broken bonds and soothe souls. This ancient power allows us to fight evil spirits, and in the process of exploring the colorful regions of the South, mending the cracks in the grand tapestry may be the key to unraveling the family’s past entanglements. Players interested in the mysterious culture of the American South may want to pay more attention to this work.

Allied Death Squad Origins
