To Subscribers

Yesterday, I had a chat with the newbie box operator, and roughly speaking, I said that from the background data, the vast majority of users are subscribing for 1 month. After all, the first month is the most active version of the cycle, and, the vast majority of my content, also focus on the first month for updates.

Other authors have long since discovered this, so pricing is generally higher. I’m the only exception, and I haven’t seen any initiative to contact them, so it’s nice to be reminded.

I’ve always felt that I’m the one who’s been playing this game for 20 years, and WoW has long been a part of my life. It’s only 60 for a monthly subscription, you shouldn’t have to spend too much extra on plugins.

But for the hundreds of hours of work I’ve done this month, I’m getting $6 in real terms for V1 and $12 in real terms for V2. Then spreading that out over 6 months of a season looking at it, V1 actual charge of $1 per month isn’t nearly as much as I’m charging for posting a public post to write these few words.

Newbie Box also feels that their current subscription is not flexible enough and is ready to work on a new feature of pricing by season.

Until that feature goes live, I’ve temporarily raised the subscription price to 3x the previous one .

Consider that a season lasts about 6 months, but the majority of players are active in the first 3 months. So for the time being, I’ve set the price at 3 times the previous monthly price.

If you are subscribing in the near future, please make sure you subscribe monthly, not quarterly or yearly, as you will lose money.

I will lower the price by 33% next month, April 10th.

Then on May 8th, the original price will be restored.

I assume the season subscription feature will be live by then.

I apologize for taking a few minutes of everyone’s time for something like this.

Sincerely.
